This was actually a post that I wanted to write right after my birthday, but I wasn’t sure if I was going to share it.
Days are passing SO fast that I can’t believe I’m 22 already! To be honest I still feel like a 17 year old running around worrying about the smallest things. Growing up can do that to you, especially in your twenties where you feel like you don’t know where life’s taking you. But trust me the best way to deal with life is to just go with it. We humans have the tendency to worry about things and the future (at least I know I do!) but then again what we most certainly need to have faith in is fate. And along with that, it’s always important to be good to others and yourself. Pretending to be something you’re not will only damage you in the long run. So always know who you are and do what you love.
Now for some of the common thoughts that I’m sure people in their twenties have:
You feel like you didn’t study the right major in university. Even though I love communications and media I still feel like I could’ve had a degree in Interior design or film making or fashion design, I don’t know it’s just something to think about at 3 am.
You don’t know where life is taking you! And by that I mean that you don’t know what you want to do with your life next. Cause let’s face it, once you graduate you end up feeling like you can take over the world! But that can mostly be confusing since you’re not even sure if that’s what you want to do.
Everyone around you is probably married or engaged or having their third child. This is literally what’s been happening around me ever since I turned 21. And I can’t help but re-think my life choices. I mean sure I don’t want to get married right now, but by the looks of it when it’s finally my time, everyone’s probably going to bored of attending weddings.
You feel like you don’t know enough and you’re getting fatter by the minute. I always had skinny genes in high school and even through out college but ever since I graduated I’ve managed to gain weight everywhere! and apart from that you feel like you haven’t experienced enough things as compared to your friends or siblings.
And now finally, if you’re bummed about being old; relax it’s not all that bad! You can always improve your choices and decisions and everything! So don’t worry grab something delicious to eat!
