Shoe Box Launch Event

Last night, I was invited to the launch of Shoe Box at Galleries Lafayette, Dubai Mall. The event consisted of 65 designers displaying their latest collection, and for all the shoe lovers out there, this is what I have to say: it was heaven on earth.

Galleries Lafayette in Dubai Mall has dedicated over 500 square meters to footwear and consists of over 400 pairs of shoes from various high end brands such as Burberry, Karl Lagerfeld, Nike and many more! It has become the new hub for all shoe lovers. The concept of Shoe Box was designed by an Italian architectural firm.

The event was hosted by the very talented Shereen Metwalli. There was live entertainment & interviews with some of the designers like Julia Haart & Nadya Hassan.

I got a chance to speak with the lovely Julia Haart (Designer of the Julia Haart shoes). We talked about her integration of cloud 9 technology in shoes that basically have an in-built cushion on the inner sole. Comfort over long hours and great designs- that’s every shoe lover’s dream, isn’t it?

“We are in a space that did not exist before. We are the first ever comfortable, luxury high end brand”, said Julia Haart.  The collection is inspired by her vision of art and architecture translated into fashion.

Each design has a unique touch of chic & classy. In my opinion, what set her collection apart was the combination of edgy patterns & fabulous colors. It’s a collection that will instantly make you fall in love.

I also met with the well-known fashion blogger & now a shoe designer, Nadya Hassan. She launched her SS’16 collection at the event last night. Most of her shoes were inspired by the 1920s & 1940s. The collection mainly consisted of flats in pretty, light hues and an eclectic mix of materials in each of her designs.

The ambience of the entire place was delightful and the shoes were to die for. If your love of shoes envies that of Carrie Bradshaw (or me) then this place is for you. Head down to Galleries Lafayette at Dubai Mall and get your fix today!
