Inspiration | Dubai Blogger: Fatima Anwar

Fatima

Can you tell our readers about yourself?

My name is Fatima and I was born in Pakistan. I came to Dubai in 2013, and soon found myself working as a content writer for a Travel and Tourism Magazine. Now, I am a freelance writer, social media content creator/analyst, juggling with PR and Marketing and when it come to my blog, I am all that!

How & why did you start blogging?

The Trend Chronicle started as a platform for me to vent my fashion expertise, favorite brands and myriad events happening in D-Town. Soon, TTC grew and now covers more topics such as; beauty, food, home & decor and out and about in Dubai.

I love sharing quotes, pretty pictures, and sometimes my outfits on my social media accounts.

What are some of your strengths that really helped you in your blogging?

I was always known as the social butterfly in high school with a passion for writing and designing. I think my interest in creative work and communication helped me progress in my field of PR and Media.

What do you find the most frustrating aspect of blogging?

I must say day by day the blogging field is growing intensely competitive. Especially during the busy season, you have to be on your feet all the time; hopping from one event to another. We have to play dress up, network, edit pictures, create room to write blog posts and still manage to concentrate on our full time jobs and education. So, those who think it’s all day partying and amazing gifts, please don’t get carried away with the Instagram and Snapchat posts!

Who’s your number 1 inspiration?

Olivia Palermo is definitely my style icon. Even if it’s a pair of girlfriend denim, I love how feminine and elegant her style is.

What’s your to-go outfit?

My style is mosty feminine and contemporary with a nod of classy. I feel more comfortable in my black formal pants collared shirt and a heels than in denim at any time the day.

Where do you mostly shop from?

I have to say it’s either Zara, Mango and Next but I do visit Dubai Mall once a month and explore different shops. You can never believe the variety you can get there.

Have you met anyone interesting on your blogging journey?

I recently met British Master Perfumer, Roja Dove. I never knew how to explain scents until I met him and he totally changed my perspective and fondness for perfumes. Plus, his confidence in his work is truly inspirational.

What is the biggest challenge that you face as a blogger?

My blogging approach is more journalistic. I talk a lot about fashion trends, what’s new and happening more than a simple outfit of the day post. Along with simple pictures and style inspiration I like to give my bloggers an insight of the brand and what makes it different. It was definitely a challenge to follow my approach to blogging and continuously create content that the readers will enjoy.

Who takes most of your photos?

For my blog,, I take the pictures myself. When I am at an event and I want a picture of myself, I just set the camera to my preference and hand it to any enthusiastic blogger who shares my passion for a gazillion pictures before THE one.

Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

I always say, life is unpredictable and trust me I love how each year is different and more challenging than what you expected. Definitely, I can’t be sure of my future but  I hope to work on my blog more and add more fun, innovative and inspiring options for the readers.
